The Launch of MeetSG. The World’s first country-level WeChat MICE Mini Program

We are thrilled to announce that The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in partnership with SACEOS and WeChat, the widely used Chinese social media platform, have launched the World’s first country-level WeChat MICE Mini Program named “MeetSG”.

The program was launched on Sunday (10th November 2019). It targets MICE travellers from China and allows event organisers to contact Chinese business travellers and share details such as event schedules, venue details, news, promo tickets etc. Singapore is the first country destination in the world to introduce such an initiative targeting Chinese MICE travellers.

What growth can the MICE industry expect?

The launch of MeetSG program comes on the scene of a significant increase in the number of Chinese tourists, who travel to Singapore.

MeetSG program will be accessible to more than 1,13 billion monthly active users on WeChat.

STB recorded more than 3.4 million visitors from China in Singapore in 2018 (increased by 6% compared to 2017).

Considering the facts that WeChat Pay is one of the most popular payment methods in China and interest in Singaporean business events among Chinese travellers is growing, we believe MeetSG program will bring new opportunities to event professionals.

To share insights on the recently launched MeetSG Mini Program on WeChat, SACEOS organised WeChat Go Workshop for MICE leaders on 12th November 2019.

The industry leaders discussed the new opportunities of an expansive outreach via MeetSG to more than one billion WeChat users. The program empowers event organisers to provide detailed news on MICE events in Singapore, curated information and offers that will enrich the experience of the Chinese users in Singapore.
