After the hugely successful runs of The Special Event USA and the Middle East Special Event Show, Asia’s edition, The Special Event Asia 2019 (#TSEA19), was officially launched on 18-19 November 2019 at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.

Inspiration and Knowledge Sharing.

Organisers invited esteemed speakers from leading event companies across Asia to share insights and deliver inspirational speeches. Over two days, prominent event industry leaders shared exceptional knowledge and presented success stories at the Conference Hub in the following sessions:

  • Experiential & Brand Activations
  • Industry Leadership
  • Immersive Technology
  • Live Events In Focus

Our CEO and VP of Digital & Innovations at SACEOS, Veemal Gungadin, presented in the Immersive Technology session on the cutting-edge topic “The Merging of Physical & Digital Tech: Complete Your Full User Journey”. Mr Gungadin raised striking questions on some of the difficulties which event organisers face while mapping a user journey when it comes to offline events and the potential of data that may get lost in the process. Mr Gungadin shared exciting insights on how technology can put event organisers in control of the merging of the digital and physical worlds.

TSEA Highlights

Here are some ideas, which were shared from the stage:

Veemal Gungadin Insights from TSEA event

      • Physical data gives us more accurate insights about people than digital data because it tracks what people are actually doing at events.
      • By merging physical and digital data, you get customer data.
      • Physical data is valuable and today we are losing pretty much all of that data.
      • By merging physical data with digital data, we can get a richer profile of our customers and we can create more personalised experiences.

Staying true to its mission, #TSEA invited the leaders of the MICE industry in the APAC region to different panel discussions. On 19th November #TSEA held a panel discussion on the topic “Moving the Industry Ahead with Experience Data” in which the following panellists participated: Veemal Gungadin, our CEO, and VP Digital & Innovation, SACEOS, Ong Whee Teck, CEO of Trusted Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek Management Services, Lexie Walker, Regional Director and Head of Events, Asia Pacific, McCorkell, David Setrouk, CEO of Angage.

Singapore Pavilion at the #TSEA exhibition.

The services and latest event technology solutions were presented in the Singapore Pavilion. We set up our exhibition booth with the combined goal to demonstrate how event technology can simplify an event organiser’s life as well as be eco-friendly and sustainable. #TSEA attendees had an opportunity to attend the GEVME Experience Center at our conceptualised booth and test recently-launched Experiential Technologies.

What solutions actually were showcased at the booth?

Sustainable kiosks for seamless registration and check-in experience.

Being faithful to our goal to motivate event organisers and attendees toward sustainability with the help of our solutions, we presented a range of [sustainable kiosks] such as a standing kiosk and a tabletop kiosk for seamless onsite registration and a smart bin for recycling name badges. All kiosks are made of eco-friendly and lightweight material like paperboard that is incredibly lightweight while still being exceptionally strong. That’s why they are extremely easy to carry around and set up. The material contains zero harmful components and utilises water-based adhesives like potato starch glue allowing it to be recycled as paper in normal waste paper streams.

The eco-friendly onsite setup allows event professionals to help their attendees make a difference and feel like they are actively participating in sustainable practices. On top of that, kiosks not only have the facility to display engaging personalised messages to attendees, they also are highly-customisable and can be branded according to event organisers needs.

Intelligent onsite tracking. Physical data collection. onsite tracking

The registration kiosks were equipped with a unique RFID encoding capability allowing RFID badges to be printed onsite, enhancing the possibilities for attendee tracking and engagement. To demonstrate our onsite attendance tracking system in action, we placed RFID mats around the pavilion, the tracking results were visualised and shown in real-time on a tablet using Metabase.

Lead retrieval apps for exhibitors. Lead retrieval apps for exhibitors

After the successful launch of experiential next-generation lead retrieval apps for exhibitions and trade shows at SFFxSWITCH 2019, we demonstrated how those apps can empower exhibitors to increase event ROI substantially.

  • Leads Scan App – a mobile app for scanning and qualifying leads at the exhibition booth.
  • Showcase App  – an additional solution on top of Leads scan app to capture those leads who were interested in reading digital brochures.

Apart from demo sessions on how to get more business with the help of the lead generation apps, we illustrated how tech solutions can reduce paperwork by eliminating the need for printing marketing collateral.
